To address your original question: >> The game states that it needs Open GL and an accelerated 3D video card with 8 meg of video ram. ---&--- I believe that there is a slot on the motherboard to add video ram, can I just drop in a cheap 6 meg upgrade or would I need a whole new card? >>
- OpenGL is included with 9.2 and OSX, unless you removed it, its there. - The maximum your beige G3 can support is 6MB of VRAM, via a 4MB upgrade. Unfortunately, you are going to have a hard time finding these. >> And I need it to run in Classic under 10.2, because my machine will not boot into 9.2. >> - Is that a problem the G-List can assist with or your own choice? Classic games that rely on the ATi Pro are very poor, as Jaguar does not have 3D acceleration for this device, only 2D and quicktime. This is explained on the apple site. >> When I try to run the game I just get an empty white screen >> - It's because of the VRAM requirements. I have exactly the same on Gorky17 demo (but no worries, I hear its not that good anyway!) >> Is this game ever going to work at all on this machine? >> - Only if you follow the recommendations of the other G-List members who have suggested getting a PCI ATi card. I also think this is a very good idea, if I wasn't a poor student, I'd be doing that! Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
