I know how you feel, here in New Zealand Macs are virtually 
non-existent in most computer stores, except for one national Mac 
chain which has four shops spread through the 4 main centre's. Having 
said that it's still usually cheaper for me to buy from smalldog or 
Other World Computing than to pay retail here in NZ, even with 
shipping costs, and the GST (sales tax) that you have to pay on 
anything over $NZ400. Thinking different can be a pain at times:(
