The System size increase is normal. OS-8.1 to 9.2 all set their ram use to
a percentage of the total ram installed.

Your machine can use PC100 or PC133 ram, both will work fine. you can even
have different speeds in each slot. It may even be able to use PC66 RAM, but
if you are going to add a processor upgrade avoid it.

Your problem sounds RAM related. One or more of the DIMMs may not be
compatible with your computer or may just be defective. Try removing all 3
new sticks and reinstalling them. One might not be seated properly. Then try
using one at a time to check for the defective one. The newer versions of
"Apple System Profiler" will show what ram is installed in each slot. Make
sure they all identify correctly.

Lastly, try running DIMM First Aid(?), I forget the exact name. It will
identify the RAM that isn't compatible with the latest Apple firmware
upgrade and attempt to reset it to make it compatible. This usually fixes
most RAM related problems. DIMM first Aid can be found at
<www.versiontracker.com> .
