Greetings all,

A puzzling problem which I hope someone can help me with. . .

Every second time (varies a bit, but that's about it) I start my G4 Tower
(400 MHz/320 MB RAM/10 GB HD/ATI Rage 128 Pro video card/Orange Micro SCSI
card/Griffin gPort serial adapter/OS 9.2.2), I get a dialogue box with a
bomb icon in it.

The dialogue box either says restart with extensions disabled to resolve
"bus error" or to resolve "address error". After the forced restart
(sometimes it takes more than one), it's okay.

Griffin Technology has already told me that their serial adapter is
perfectlty compatible with OS 9.2.2, but that the Orango Micro SCSI card is
notorious for causing extension conflicts, so I removed it. This solved
another problem--that of the system refusing to go into sleep mode, or when
it does, not coming out of it without a forced restart--but it has not
solved the first problem.

I've "treated" the OS by booting the computer with Norton and doing a full
Disc Doctor and procedure, but this makes no difference.

I've looked for the Orange Micro extension, in order to turn it off, but
can't identify one--perhaps I'm missing something.

Any tips or comments greatly appreciated.
