I have a B&W and I have not had any problems with my firewire ports. And I almost never crash! Sometimes when I am using Netscape, that's why I only use Netscape Messenger for mail. I surf with IE. And I even give Communicator 3x the suggested ram. I am using a OWC Mercury firewire 48x LiteOn cdrw and a VST 250 zip, almost plug and play simple. Extract CD's to my music partition 2-3 min. and record in 3 min. If it works, it works. If you have not obstructed the airflow in your box or suffered a spike why would something just quit? Dave
