All of the cards Adaptec currently sells are supported for OS X. In fact, the only Mac cards they don't support are the 294x/394x series. There's a subtext in their statement, and elsewhere, that these products had significant design flaws and that they're no longer being made for a reason. Suffice it to say that Mac OS X is not the only OS that had issues with these cards.
