As I mentioned, I went ahead and gave the machine (my 300 mHz beige G3 rev. 2) to the "tech" guy to put the new hard drive in. He called me today and said that he has both the new 20GB drive in (Seagate 7200) and the old original 8GB one. He says he can't get 10.2 to install on the new drive. I asked him if it worked if he made sure it was the master drive. He said that didn't work. I asked if it worked if he took the old HD out all together and he said that didn't work.
He said that the message he keeps getting is that he needs to "partition the drive" and put it on the first 8GB. He says he "tried" to do that but it didn't work and that he can't find any information on the Apple website. He says it loads fine onto the old drive. Maybe he doesn't know how to partition the drive (I don't either). Anyway, according to an article I read on "Low End Mac" it doesn't even always matter if you partition the drive. If this guy's missing doing something -- he doesn't know what it is. Does anyone have any idea what's holding him up? Also, if I leave the 8GB drive in should I just let 10.2 run from it? Are there any problems with doing that? Thanks, Anastasia Coles -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
