Folks,

I've been having some very wierd hangs on my beige (Rev
C/300mHz/320megs/9.1- stripped down extensions). I usually run Opera
and Eudora Light, occasionally Netscape, ICQ, Simpletext, Graphic
Converter, Quicktime Player/Movie Player, iTunes/MacAmp. The
extension set and the combination of apps has been pretty stable for
months. I run Nortons (yeah yeah) about once a week. 1 meg of VM
and FBC Indexing daily at midnight.

Now sometimes when I go to shut down using the keyboard power key, it
gets some way through shutting down the apps and then hangs, I think
with only the Finder running. It hangs so hard I have to switch it
off at the wall, the 3-finger salute is no good, force-quitting is no
good, even the front panel power button doesn't work. Wierdly, the
mouse still moves IIRC. It's not a short hang either, I've come back
hours later thinking I've shut down, only to find it still in this
state.

What gives?

Clae.
