The answer to my modem problem. G'day from Oz.
I posted a problem her & elsewhere that I had a problem initializing the modem on my beige G3, and also an iMac. No-one seemed to know the answer. Fixed the G3 with a new Swann download. On the iMac, I noticed selecting different modems gave different periods of 'Dialing...' dialogs, so also suspected the modem script. I tried the internal modem script from the Jag.2.3 iMac install, from the G3 install, from both 9.2.2 installs. No luck. After a few days of trying, I threw in the script from the old 8.6 Archive, selected it, re-booted to initialize it,.... you guessed it, works bloody perfectly. Shrug.
