Could it be an IDE bus configuration issue? For example, in my beige G3,
the OS10.2.1 and 9.1 System folders are on two different partitions of a
single hard drive set without jumpers, which is the only drive on that IDE
bus. Maybe having the jumper set to Master or Cable Select, or having 2
drives on the same bus can interfere with the Option key input? I dunno,
just wondering if others might examine their set up and comment on whether
the Option key selection works for them.
