A few things. I'm using a Firewire/USB2.0 combo card in my B&W. I've noticed that I get a message in OS 9.2 saying that a device is using too much power and and it will be shut off. I'm guessing it's referring to the USB2.0 component of the card because I was still able to use the firewire . Jaguar seems to like the card. USB2.0 is NOT supported in any flavour of OS 9. System profiler would tell you that you have Firewire because you would see Firewire listed and beside it a message saying if there were any devices detected. In previous versions of OS X you didn't see firewire listed if it was on a PCI card. Also check the area in system profiler that shows your PCI slots. Click on the slot that has the card and you should see some info listed for each port. That being said, I have a B&W so profiler would always list Firewire since it's built in. Therefore seeing it listed in profiler doesn't really do me any good regarding the card. I would need to still go to the PCI slot and see if it is at least being detected. Now in my 7300 I installed a firewire card and profiler (in Jaguar) lists Firewire. Also check it using iMovie. In OS 9.2 when I run iMovie I switch it to camera mode and it tells that that the camera has been disconnected so I know that the firewire is being detected. Without it iMovie won't run. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
