Brian, have you read Kevin Thomas' email thoroughly? He was saying he is using Netscape 4.79, NOT 7.x so trashing the Netscape prefs will NOT trash bookmarks etc, it just contains the info like incoming and outgoing mail server and your user name, that's all, that's why it's so easy to do. Netscape 4.7x prefs can get corrupted and trashing them usually fixes it. In the last few years I had to do this several times with Netscape 4.x and 4.7x. OT: I use this app ony for email, because it contains all my mail, addressbooks etc, I think Kevin uses it for a similar reason. BTW At work I use Netscape 7.01, because it can handle more mailboxes like one for this maillist and I haven't had a single problem with it, except that when the Netscape Mail & Newsgroups window is open and in the background there's no way to type something in Sherlock 2 or SimpleText, and then when doing a CMD-Q in one of those apps, Netscape quits??. Anyway I'm drifting off... > Kevin, if you want to try Marcs suggestion, DON'T trash the file, but > just move it out of the Preferences folder. Yeah, that's indeed a good idea, put it onto your desktop and let Netscape create another one, if the problems disappear you can trash it, if the problem is still there it aint the prefs, but from experience I think you've got corrupted prefs.
