Usually, in Netscape 4.79, the problem is with the cache file and/or the history file. I think that both of these are in the preferences folder. But one, or both, might be in the Netscape Communicator Folder.
Usually trashing these gets Netscape back to its usual rate of crashing. Be sure to allocate about 80,000MB memory to Netscape. If you use RAM Disk for your Netscape cache, the cache will be emptied each time the computer is shut down. This improves stability.
