I can't entirely disagree with this statement because I do notice that MS products are slow and crappy on my Mac, but let's face it: A lot of MS products are slow and crappy on PC's too. Anyone used Outlook for PC lately? Even on a fast P4 machine it's like pulling teeth do do any work in that app. And what about Find and Replace in a very large Word Doc for PC? I sometimes feel I could manually do it quicker! MS apps are just sloppy, unoptimized code slapped together from the latest aquisition's last product. The point is though, it isnt in Microsoft's best interest to make the Mac look bad because they own a good chunk of the company! It's just that Microsoft dosen't quite understand how to make a really great product yet! Let's look at the bright side though. Rumors are starting (Partly because of the recent price drops on Apple products)that a major change is in the works for the future. If Apple can (and it seems like they can, according to the rumors) come out with a superfast chip (say 4 Ghz-5 Ghz) by the end of the year, optimize Panther for speed (which it also appears they have) and keep their prices reasonable (which they are at the moment, Apple has a real chance of grabbing market share by the chunks. Longhorn, (which is MS's new OS) seems to be just more junk from what I've read about it so far (and this is from PC Connection magazine!), offering only totally superfluous and unnecessary changes. This could the year Apple finally proves it point once and for all! -Scott Howe __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
