Hi, folks, long time lurker (Quadlist, too), rare caller.

300mhz B&W G3, 6gig, 384Mb

Just upgraded to 9.2.1 from 8.6 so my son could play a game (MOO3), and
am tempted to go back. I have a new problem since the upgrade that may
or may not be related to the change. At random intervals, and in
various applications, the application quits and I get a little note in a
window that says my hard drive may be damaged. Sometimes I can soft
restart, booting into the 9.2.1 CD, other times it won't and I have to
do it with the button on the CPU. Check the HD with DiskFirstAid, and
it says it is OK (?!). By repeated (*%#) experimentation, I have found
that custom reinstalling just the OS fixes the problem, but doesn't
prevent it from happening again.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Michael

Peace
