And it is strictly the beige G3 roms as I have Jag on an 18GB harddrive in my 9600/G4/800 that runs perfectly!

Does this mean that my Beige DT, which now has a Sonnet G4 500MHz zif no longer has the 8 gig system limit?

No.

See <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106235>

The limit applies to ATA drives only, and has nothing to do with the processor.

Moreover, while it's not nothing, it's largely a trivial problem, expecially since you can move the Users directory to another partition or drive, <http://www.bombich.com/mactips/homedir.html> leaving only the system and applications on that root 8GB drive; which is good practice anyway.

(Alas, you can't do the same with Applications, apparently, otheriwse you would be able to have nothing but the system on that partition.)
