>Len/Everyone, I have a Beige G3 DT. Will a ATA 133 card work for me?

Any Mac compatable ATA will work in a beige EXCEPT there have been various
reports of there being problems with the Sonnet Trio (ATA 133, USB and
Firewire on one card) having some problems. I THINK that the new versions
have fixed this, but check with this list and Sonnet (and buy from a dealer
with a good return policy) if you go this route.

The ATA standards are backward compatable, which means that a 100 drive
will work fine on a 133 card. There is a technical speed difference in the
cards between a 100 and a 133, but you are bumping into the speed
limitations of the PCI bus and the HD more than the card. The more
important difference is that ATA 100 specification maxes out with drives
around 127G (I forget the actual number)- even if you hook a 160G drive,
you will only see about 127G so drive size plays more of a role than speed,
IMHO.
