I did have a power supply go on my Beige G3 DT. The surge protector didn't seem to help it. But luckily, it was only the power supply. I've never heard of the processor just going. Reseating everything is the proper way, as well as removing the power supply cable to the motherboard, and removing the battery. Luckily I had a friend who has a G3 DT and we just started switching parts to see why it wouldn't startup.
