I agree! The UNIX of OS X is a heck of a lot more secure than any PC OS (that's right, any PC OS).
All, don't worry about viruses. I've run a PC and a Mac forever and have *never* had any kind of virus on either one. I am simply careful about what I download and who it's from in email, etc. etc.

Please read this article it seems that OS X in more vulnerable to viruses because of the Unix interface. I am getting a little nervous now that I've upgraded to OS X.
This article is FUD, pure and simple, by a Symantec marketroid trying to drum up sales.
Putting it not so politely, he is a lying sack of sh*t. Your'e supposed to feel nervous. Your supposed to rush right out and buy his quack cure-all for virus problems.
There is one modern platform that has *fewer* viruses than the Mac OS.
That would be Unix.
There have been *two* that I know of. the Great Morris Wyrm of 1988, and Lion, a virus that affected some linux distros.
The vast majority of Linux or Unix systems today run on x86 platforms, so the virus would have to be tailored to OSX sprecifically.
The BSD Unix underpinning OSX is quite secure. Though there are exploits for various Unixes, out of the box, (and kept up to date) OS X is probably the safest modern OS in existence.
