Hello,
I am running a Beige G3/500 with OS 8.6 and 9.2 on different partitions of the same HD. I am using a Sonnet Encore / ZIF G3/500 upgrade card.
When I start up in 9.2 and check System Profiler it says "Machine Speed: 500 MHz", but when I start up in 8.6 and check System Profiler it says "Machine Speed: 501 MHz".
What can I do to fix this as my HD spins faster when in 8.6.

It's a difference in the System Profiler app, your processor speed isn't changing. (and even if it was you're talking about a 0.2% difference in speed)
Also, your HDD spins at the same speed regardless of the OS it's running.
