Do you have a fan on your heatsink? If no, unless you keep your computer in the freezer, it is most likely the additional heat that the passively cooled heatsink can't dissipate fast enough.
You might want to try the following.. 1. Remove the heatsink from the machine and find a good 40mm or 60mm fan that fits it. 2. Get that thing installed on there. 3. Consider using a very small amount of thermal paste between the heatsink and the die on the processor. It will allow for better heat transfer from the cpu to the heatsink. You should be able to get these parts from a Radio Shack or your fav. computer store.
