it may also very well be largely due to the printer. a lot of websites actually have graphics for things like menus, because they can't be sure what fonts you have available. graphics always slow printers down, particularly if it's a bad format, i don't know how well printers digest jpg's and gif's, which it may be scaling, scaling will definitely slow things down!
