exactly!  the slot looks like a pc card slot, but the pinout has been diddled
just to rip off the consumer (what else would you call making something
proprietary that doesn't need to be for NO reason other than forcing consumers
to buy from you and maintaining a monopoly on that part of the market?).  and
that, is why i'm learning *nix, because there are good graphics shells for it
now, and it's entirely open.  frankly, i strongly suspect that this type of b.s.
has hurt apples bottom line far, far more than it's helped, IT people don't like
to be ripped off for no good reason!
