From the audio out ports on your amplifier/receiver run a RCA (dual plugs)-to stereo mini-plug-cable ($8.00). Connect the mini-stereo plug to a Griffin iMic ($35.00). The iMic attaches to your USB port.

To transfer the audio signal to your hard disk use Bias Peak LE ($100.00). (If you need to clean up the audio there's BIas' Sound Soap but that's not essential.) You, no doubt, have Toast or Toast LE already so with these items you're in business. You will need about 650MB of hard drive space for every 50 minutes of audio.
