I really don't know which list to send this to. I know many of you subscribe
to most of the list so any help is appreciated.

I am trying to network my iMac to my Beige, 2 G3 PowerBooks, 6500 and a
Q840av. One PowerBook and the Beige G3 are using 10.2.6 and the rest of the
Macs are using 9.2.2.

I am familiar with Sharing and Networking Macs over Ethernet as well as with
Airport. What I am having trouble with is the fact that I am trying to set
up the iMac so I can use my dial up modem setting as well as my Ethernet
sharing settings without having to change either when I want to connect
online or network. It seems that I must either choose PPP in the TCPIP panel
to get online or choose Ethernet to network between computers.

What am I missing here? I should be able to use one setting for both and not
have to worry about changing. (In truth, the problem is with my wife and
kids. They are not that understanding about switching back and forth and
want me to leave it on one setting.) I mean, this is a iMac-it is made for
this, right? Easy connecting and easy to network.

If anyone can help me with some insight on this I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Byron
