any time a monitor is moved, it will be in a different magnetic field, and may become magnitized along the way as well (especially if say stereo speakers were packed near it). it sounds like it's magnetized. try the degauss button several times (alloying it to cool off in between, usually 5-10 minutes), if it doesn't have a manual deqauss button, power cycle it many times, leave it on just long enough to finish deqausing (say 10 seconds) and then allow 5-10 minutes with it off to cool down. alternately, if you can find one a good deqausing coil will make it faster (but keep it away from media and drives that depend on magnetism to store data....).
it may take many, many tries till you notice any improvement, and then may take many more to be fully effective. if you're a hardware hacker contact me off list and i'll tell you how i made my own great deqausing coil (which can be left on and used indefinately which is very, very helpful with badly magnetized monitors like the old sun battles ships in steal housings...). don't waste time calibrating until you are done, it will change until the monitor is completely demagnetized. ro shriver wrote: > > Hi there - > > This is off topic somewhat, but I'm hoping someone can > steer me in the right direction anyway. > I have a less-than-two-year-old Mitsubishi Diamond Pro > 2060u 22" monitor.
