Jeff,
Easy enough to try running with the case open to
see if this is the problem.

I have seen 2 suggestions to solve the clearance issue:
1. Cut the safety cover off the fan (on the bottom of
the power supply). This creates a safety hazard.
2. Remove the card ejectors at the ends of the memory slots.
