As the G3T uses IDE/ATA hard drives, while the 9600 uses 50-pin (narrow) SCSI.
Being more common, ATA drives are cheaper and more available. The G3T has two
ATA interfaces and one SCSI, so depending on which motherboard/ROM revision
you have, you could have up to four ATA drives. (Some of the earlier G3Ts with
Revision 1 ROMs, did not support ATA slave devices. You can upgrade the ROm to
> revsion 3, if you can one.) .....

Q 2: Where do I find the Revision #? The ROM chip has numbers 820-0954-01
date 1997. Is this the Revision 1? I would definitely want to be able to
use Master/Slave. Maybe not so big an issue since it is upgradable.

Nexcomp (www.nexcomp.com) has revision 3 (revision C) ROMs for $65. The ROMs are found under their Motherboard upgrade section.
