Sounds like bad RAM to me.
Things i think should be tried:
1. Reseat the RAM.
Sometimes it doesn't go all the way into the seat.
Restart.
2. Remove the new RAM.

I just received a 256MB stick of RAM today in the
mail, opened it up and installed it in my G4/350 (AGP)
tower. Well, as soon as I put it back together and
started it up, none of my peripherals would boot
up--the computer turned on, but no image on the
monitor (Just a "Check Signal Cable" message), no
response from the keyboard (I tried to open the CD
drive from keyboard, nothing.). I restarted the
computer a couple of times, even unplugged and
replugged every peripheral and the connection to the
power source. Of course, as soon as I removed the
newly-installed stick of RAM, everything booted up
just fine.
Could the RAM be incompatible with my system, or is it just bad? Ideas? I don't know if I should try to send it back, or call the company or what.
