Yeap that's it. Before you deem this stick defective, I would try and find a PC to stick in and see if it works. If it doesn't then it's the stick. If it does, then it's the stick too. Also, make sure it isn't a PC-66 version which I doubt it would be since it's old. If you stick in a PC-66 ram DIMM, the G4 won't boot.


Anyhow, I find that 8 chip sticks do not work well with G4 AGPs, but they are somehow cheaper than the 16 (8 on each side). It has something to do with the memory controller used on the G4, but that was also an issue with the early G3s as well. Suffice to say, I've had great success using the 16 chip DIMMs made for the PC either 100 or 133 and not 66.
