Hello Wise Ones,

I know there are issues with the Beige Onboard Video card. It does have a
DVD decoder chip, but the onboard video card is only 6 Mb. System software
is currently 9.2.2, but will be upgrading to OS 10.2.8 as soon as the new
drive is installed.

Are you sure you have a DVD decoder chip??????

The only decoder for beiges was a daughter card for the Wings AV card. And these are pretty rare.

Do I have to upgrade the Video card to a ATI 128 ?

Nope, Upgrade to a Radeon 7000

Anyone successfully installed a DVD reader on a Beige?

Yep, no problems with the hack above and a Radeon 7000

Will OS X help?

Will not play DVDs as smoothly as 9, and you will still need a Radeon
