Just buy it from a reseller with a good return policy, and try. If at first you can't boot, your Mac is one it won't work in.

Which Beige G3 do you have, and especially which revision, because the Tempo Trio has some problems when installed in a Rev.C G3 (all 333MHz and some 266MHz IIRC).
