Probably so. This is one known failure mode of the Sonnet Trio.

As one might imagine, there are numerous potential failure modes in any 
computer's architecture.

One of the more obvious is that of a configuration (on PCI-based PC) for 
FLASHing Radeon 7000s.

Most PCs will not allow more than two PCI slots to be occupied when FLASHing 
Radeons.

This usually means a basic PCI video card (not a Radeon) and the Radeon 
itself.
