I'll add my 2 cents worth here. I had a wonderful B&W that in fact became
my favorite Mac of all time. I had some connection problems with the stock
Global Village modem under OS 9.X but after going to OS X it was solid and
steady (My son still uses the B&W while I'm stuck with a Sawtooth that's
been nothing but a headache - anyone wanna trade??). So I am a fan of the
Global Village internal, at least under OS X. I don't think that it's
actually that high priced though. In addition to the links that Abbe
provided you might also check out Wegener Media (www.wegenermedia.com). I
know that some people on some of these lists have had some problems with
them, but I have personally had several good experiences with them and they
have the modems for $15.00 (click on the "specials" page and scroll down to
"modems). Of course YMMV, but I think that the B&W should make you pretty
happy!
