Hi,
I would like to add a 2nd hdd to my Beige G3 and discovered that the standard IDE cables with 2 connections are too short to reach from bottom hdd to top cradle. Does anyone know what size I need? AND where to buy one in the UK?
I have had a good look at the XLR8yourMac pages but no one seems to have found this a problem? Just a bit puzzled:=>> am I being a bit dimm maybe...? It just will not reach... (btw I have taken out the corner piece but it's is still to far.)

Just about any reputable electronics shop ought to carry IDE cables of varying sizes. You may have to have one made for you, which is more expensive, but not that insane. Measure first.

If you're reasonably handy, you can even make one yourself. They sell the ribbon cable and connectors that clamp on (I used a bench vise to do it. I used smooth jaws and was careful about the pressure I applied. The key is applying even pressure all across the connector and keeping everything straight. I've made lots of ribbon cables this way.) Again, a decent electronics shop ought to carry the things you need for this.

Use the existing cable as a guide to positioning the connectors.
