80 MB HD? I'm guessing you mean 80GB HD and it's an IDE drive not a SCSI
Yes, an 80 GB IDE drive, the SCSI is for my external Jaz drive.
experienced it myself. I'm using my SCSI card to access info from my EZ135 disks. I've also used it with an internal 4GB hard drive and it worked fine as well. No corrupt or lost data.
Is this with Panther or Jag. Another poster suggested that the firewire problem that plagued Panther is also a problem for SCSI drives.

Thanks for the suggestion. I found an ADAPTEC 2940 U2W and flashed it with the Mac firmware. Now I just need to find a 50 - 68 pin adapter so I can use my Jaz drive.

drivers are already there, don't need to install them in X. Getting the internal B&W modem is a bit tricky. Try ebay for that. I'm not too sure
I've looked. Unfortunately, the prices or the shipping to Canada have not been reasonable so far.
BTW if you are going to use Panther, I suggest upgrading your CPU to a G4 ZIF (I got a G4/350 ZIF from ebay for under $90 USD early last year) and your RAM (at least to 768).
What was the speed of your G3? Did it make a noticeable difference to upgrade to the G4. I mostly do word processing but do the occasional work with photos in Graphic Converter.
