I flashed quite a few of these last year but the flashability has
now been mostly rectified by the manufs and the PC rom has been altered
so that it will not accept the mac rom. It's hard to say what exactly has
been altered without dedicated equipment but the new cards will no longer
flash to mac. The flash procedure can vary but always involves a PC
running dos for at least part of it - the flash cannot be done on a mac.
You will need a PC Radeon 7000 card which is more than six months old if
you can find one.
I think the 8500 is still flashable and some of the GeForce cards -
may be less hassle to try them.
