Hello- I am working for a non profit that has a Power
Mac G3. With 3 partioned drives 17gb, 4gb and 4gb. and
I think 385mb memory. We will be using the machine for
slide scanning, photoshop and dreamweaver.

What are the advantages or disadvantages of upgrading
to OS x. something (I know X.3 is not a possiblity)?

I have photoshop 6 and dreamweaver mx. I'm guessing
they will run if with the classic environment option
of OSX. Am I correct?

If you're planning on staying with those versions, stay in OS 9, and look for an OS 9 software package. (Double check the software for your slide scanner, too!)

Moving to OS X without upgrading your main applications is an exercise in futility, imo.

If you do upgrade them, get more memory, and you will have to install OSX on a boot partition of 8GB or less. I'd partition the 17 gb drive to 8 and 9 gb (actually 7.8 and 9.2 gb) and install away. You'll want to go to 10.2.8
