All G4s come on cards; they're not like Intel or AMD processors, where just the chip drops into the ZIF sockets. The only Apple G4 that would work in a B&W would be from the relatively rare Yikes machines that were essentially graphite versions of the B&W with a G4 instead of a G3. I can say with complete certainty that the processor module from no AGP and later G4 will work. I suppose there might be a few on the used market from people who've made a second upgrade jump to the new 800 MHz and 1 GHz cards. Take a look on eBay.

However that involves a rather pricey new module from some OEM. What I'm hoping for is someway to reuse a G4 ZIF someone else no longer needs as they have upgraded. So, what I guess I'm looking for is a patch I can download? Anyone know where to find that?
