you're probably in the market for a monitor, but that is an usual symptom.  are there 
any
presets?  if so, try resetting them.  also check for controls on the back, someone may
have turned something down (or were you watching it when it happened?).  definitely 
try it
on another machine or vid card, it could be at that end.
