I have a Beige DT G3 with 320mb of ram 4gig harddrive running Mac OS 9.2.2
and I have had no problems with it and I don't have Mac OS X onboard. Have you
checked in the extension manager and selected the USB extensions that need to
be on in order to have USB available. I believe a USB device that is version
2.0 will work but it will only work at version 1,1 speed.
Anyway check to ascertain whether or not the needed extensions are onboard.
