Did your pci card come with a driver for Mac?I have a beige G3 with OS 9.1 (up till yesterday, I thought it was 9.2.2 for some reason) and I put a 3-port USB 2.0 into one of the empty pci slots. It doesn't look like it's recognized in the system profiler, but I'm not sure it's supposed to be.
Can you take the card back to the store and exchange for a USB 1.0 card - and see if that works?
I thought USB 2.0 is not supported in system 9.x.
(I maybe wrong)
And, as importantly, I was going to get the 9.2.2 upgrade because I thought I needed it (or might want it). The apple.com site touted it as a must-have if you have OS X and are using an OS9 with it.
I remember reading somewhere that system 9.2.x only works with OS X running system 9.x in
'Classic' mode. So I think you maybe better off sticking with system 9.1.
