Hi, Y'all,

In looking at a recommended Canon LIDE 30 scanner, I see the specs say a
USB 2.0. Does that mean capable or does that mean required? I have a G4
Sawtooth which doesn't have USB 2.0.

Far as I know, usb 2 is backwards compatible by design. I've tested this with
my firewire/usb 2 drive and a usb 2 card reader. Both function at usb 1 speeds
when plugged into a machine that doesn't offer usb 2.
