In looking at a recommended Canon LIDE 30 scanner, I see the specs say a USB 2.0. Does that mean capable or does that mean required? I have a G4 Sawtooth which doesn't have USB 2.0.

It will work fine, albeit slower, on USB 1.1. We have an LIDE 30 that gets swapped around between several Mac's and a peecee. All but an iMac are USB 1.1 and it works fine. Since the LIDE 30 is completely bus powered it's really easy to swap it around between computers.
