There may be a number of possible solutions other than the iMic, depending
on how you want to approach the problem. While I have no personal experience
with these products as I've gone with an iPod and Etymotic ER-4Ps (personal)
and dock line-out (to the stereo) as a solution, you might look into the
following products, one or several of which might meet your needs:
