I've got a B&W G3 450 OC'ed to 500. I've just tested my install discs from my eMac. What I've found is that in order to get the install disk to do anything you need to make sure the drive your going to install it to had nothing on it. It needs to be completely formatted. and then when you start the computer, the mac has nothing else to do but to load from the eMac's restore disk.I'm curious as to how your machine acted when you tried to boot from the DVD prior to the method which eventually worked. No matter how I tried, pressing "C" on a boot, selecting the DVD as the startup drive or whatever all resulted in the same thing. The computer would restart with the chime and then I heard the monitor come up and that was about it. The DVD activity light would flash now and then, but then nothing would happen. If that is what yours did, why is this? Shouldn't you get some indication of what's going on? An error message or something? Guess I'm gonna try installing to a blank formatted HD then...
