So far so good. I have it installed now and updated to 10.3.5. Will let it run over night and see how it holds up. As far as the cost goes, I'd say I paid about a third of what a retail version would have cost. For someone like me, who only uses these things as tinker toys, I can't see any good reason to pay full price. As for my Ebay experiences, overall I would have to say I'm pleased with the items I have bought and sold on that site. YMMV

As an old hat at Ebay, I was careful to check with more reputable sellers on the information provided. Even those sellers with high feedback and Mac knowledgable said the eMac restore/install DVD's would work on any Mac capable of running the OS. I guess I will give your suggestion a try as you are the 3rd one to suggest it.

How much cheaper was it that the Retail DVD sets ? There are reasons the machine specific CD's or DVD's are cheaper.
1. They may or may not install all of the components your specific Mac needs. Installer is for an eMac and it specific needs.
2. It may or may not boot and install the OS on any Mac. Some work, some don't work.
3. If it's half the price of a full retail set there is a very good reason. You are not getting a deal, especially on Epay.
I would return it for a refund an just pay the price for what you want.
In the real world you usually get what you pay for.... On Epay you usually get more than you bargained for.....
