I have encountered something that has me stumped. Hope somebody can shed some light...
The machine is a G3 AIO. It should be able to run OS 10.2.8 without any hacks. I can install OS 10.2 from the retail CDs. However, it will not let me update the OS beyond 10.2.
Nancy,
Have you tried downloading and installing the 10.2.8 combo update from the Apple site yourself?Sometimes this works better than via SU.
Here's the link to that 10.2.8 combo:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120244 and
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdatecombo_10_2_8.html
BTW before installing the combo update do this first:
Boot from the 10.2 CD and check the HD with Disk Utility,
then boot from the HD and repair permissions with Disk Utility from the HD, then install the update.
