Yersinia,

Did you ever find out what was wrong with your g3/266 AOI?
My friend could not find anything. He brought it back working. I turned it on the next day and it is not working again. So I am back the the blinking question mark again. All the cables are connected. Tried plugging it into another outlet. The drive itself is fine. Have no idea what to do next. Any thoughts?

same thing after 2 or 3 times, then it disappeared again. Disk First
Aid could not find it, neither could Norton. The place that put it in
would not even look at it again. I am having a friend check things out.

Thank you for the warning. Now I know NOT to buy another HD. Not that I
was going to on my limited budget anyway, but your experience is telling
me not to be TEMPTED to do it. :-)

The "good news" in my case is that I have two other HDs in my G3 so I can
still at least use the thing. It's just that I have "stuff" on the HD
that went missing and that was the 4-gig drive besides, so I want it back.
