Nina:

If you do decide to upgrade the processor in your Beige DT, you may
wish to consider OWC (Other World Computing), which sells a variety of
upgrades as follows:
<http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/Upgrades.cfm?model=59&type=Processor&TI=%23TimeFormat%28Now%28%29%2C+&shoupgrds=Show+Upgrades>

They provide instructions that are easy to follow. The important
consideration is not so much how to do it, but rather whether to do it
on the basis of cost effectiveness.

In case you wonder, I do have a Beige G3/233 DT, in which I have done
some upgrades. It is relatively easy to work with, and I can send you
the Apple Service Manual for it.
